  • Media Mover Supports ImageCache - CDN integration getting better   5 weeks 6 days ago

    Hi Arthur,

I followed step by step in your article "Simple CDN with Media Mover and S3", and it now works for my Media Mover to store file in S3/Cloudfront! and read the file from there too. Thanks a lot!!!.
However you mentioned that Media Mover now support the Imagecached image. However I cannot find any related documentation or article. I trial and error to set it in Media mover, but it the file already get processed but not finished. I have no idea how it works. Please help. Thanks a millions!

DO NOT EVER CASH OR DEPOSIT A USPS BOND FROM THESE PEOPLE - You will be passing counterfeit bonds, and felony charges may well be leveled against you!

There are numerous ways that you can be scammed via PayPal - the end result is often worse than simply losing your valued goods.

The fraudulent buyer will often use a stolen credit card to fund the paypal account. You will be able to transfer the paypal funds into your own personal banking account. After you ship your item, the buyer will report to paypal either a "Item not received" or "Item not as described" claim. Either that or PayPal will become aware of the funding credit card being a stolen card.

At this point, it is PayPal that does the real nasty to you, the seller. They immediately issue a chargeback to your paypal account which results in you now being liable for the amount of the transaction.

PayPal will hold you liable for the entire transaction amount, on top of the insult of already having lost your goods.

When the scammer offers more than what is asked for, it is because they are going to pay you using counterfeit US postal bonds, which are only printed in $500 and $700 dollar denominations. They will then ask you to send them back cash for the remaining balance. So if you ask for $250 dollars for an item, the may tell you they will give you $300. When you receive the junk bonds, they will request that you send them the remaining $200 dollars in cash.

This can have severe consequences for you if you actually deposit or cash the bonds - you will be passing counterfeit bonds, which could result in felony charges being leveled against you.

I personally will never use PayPal again - I use only craigslist (and KSL.com) to sell only to local buyers and only for hard, cold cash.

    Good Luck,

    Rodney Barbati

I received the same email that most of you have mentioned and was weary upon reading it. After googling "James Mike Craigslist" I came across your post. They must also have read your post as "James Mike" is now using a new email address, mike.jmc09@gmail.com!

    HERE'S THE EMAIL........

    Hello,
Thanks for the prompt response. I am satisfied with the information provided about it at the craigslist. I will love to make an instant purchase, so please do withdraw the advert from Craigslist, I don't mind adding an extra $50 dolls for you to do that so that i can be rest assured that the item is in hand. I will also like you to know that I will be paying via check due to the distance and it will be over night payment. My secretary in the state will issue the check for the payment. things
    up. I don't mind
paying additional $50 for it in order for you to take the ad down
    from craigslist and
also to be assured that it is already mine.
I will be paying you with a certified check and it is going to be
    sent
    to you via courier service

You're right- this needs to be updated! There is also the issue of preview images as well- ultimately there has to be a rule that does not rewrite the tmp directory.

  • Simple CDN with Media Mover and S3   30 weeks 5 days ago

I forgot to mention this in my first comment: your rewrite rule will fail when the file has not yet been synced to S3!

  • Media Browser: Round 3 - Integration With FileField   36 weeks 5 days ago

Things have been moving quite a bit further. The work being done is in the D7 branch and I know Jacob Singh and Aaron Winborn have been really pushing things ahead. Check the last demo I did here: http://24b6.net/2009/11/13/media-browser-round-4-ui

  • Media Browser: Round 3 - Integration With FileField   36 weeks 6 days ago

Arthur, this looks awesome! The last update on the media browser module dates from June. Are you expecting an update soon? The closest thing to this functionality is using Filefield + IMCE + Filefield Sources.

He've already told you it was a demo.
Anyway, it's doing really well, waiting for more improvements. Patrick from Paris hotels

Though my only concern is that you may have pop ups on top of pop ups if admin overlays happen for release of Drupal 7.William from a web hosting company.

  • Media Browser: Round 4 - UI   42 weeks 1 day ago

Yeah- it's a good point. Right now we're working on functionality- we do need to do a better job on the UI/UX front- especially because that's the whole point of the project

  • Media Browser: Round 4 - UI   42 weeks 1 day ago

If the "My files" tab shows my files, and the "File system" tab shows all files, why don't you label the latter "All files"?

The "Local" text is a bit confusing. I think local leads to my client, not the server.

Imagefield shoud just be a formater - not its own field type

  • Media Sprint Reportback   44 weeks 1 day ago

Imagefield also uses Filefield as its storage, it just adds a widget with thumbnail and formatters.

I always enjoy learning what other people think about Amazon Web Services and how they use them. Check out my very own tool CloudBerry Explorer that helps to manage S3 on Windows . It is a freeware. http://cloudberrylab.com/
